The Key Marco Museum
The Marco Island Historical Society presents the history of Marco Island in photographs, artifacts, replicas and memorabilia. The Calusa Indians, early settlers, local industries and the development of Marco Island in the 1930's are represented. Located in the Marco Island Area Association of Realtors building at 140 Waterway Drive on the corner of Bald Eagle Drive, admission is free. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Collier County Museum
History comes to life at the Collier County Museum. Discover how ancient tropical seas shaped Florida's environment, learn about ht Calusa Indians, and follow the voyages of Spanish conquistadors. You can journey into the Everglades of the 1800's and into the lives of Seminole Indians. The museum is located in the Collier County Courthouse Complex at the junction of US 41 and Airport-Pulling Road, 3301 Tamiami Trail East. Naples. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. It is closed on holidays. There is free admission and free parking. Call 239-774-8476 for information.
